Action: THE DOOR – XRUK WINTER Campaign

A Trilogy of Action for 2026
Part One: The Door - Winter

The closing of the year, "one door closes another door opens."

As the year turns we first look back at what has happened, then things change, the door opens. We learn from the old and begin anew.

Looking Back at 2025
1.5 is dead, despite our best efforts our demands have not been met, those in power have failed us.

Looking Forward to 2026
Extinction Rebellion must ACT NOW! We WILL DO IT OURSELVES and get ready!

🚪 Join ‘The Door’ Telegram chat to discover suggestions for action on the streets in your area, including carol singing, delivering coal, and posting 'Do (Not) Disturb' door hangers.

If you can’t make it to the actions planned in London, you can get involved from home and in your local area…

1. Email our climate-chaos culprits

2. Put a 'Do (not) disturb' sign on offenders' doors in your local high street

3. 'Hang a sign' on their social media accounts.

Subject:
Lead us into a liveable future : A BETTER WORLD IS POSSIBLE!

Content:
Hello,

When Extinction Rebellion burst onto the scene in October 2018, it had 3 demands - Tell The Truth, Act Now and Decide Together. The UK Parliament declared a Climate Emergency in May 2019 [1], which was world-leading and worldwide news [2].

Extinction Rebellion continues to protest on these demands: the media is increasingly silent on the real impacts of climate change [3], actions by governments and corporations lag behind their green rhetoric [4], and many institutions continue to promote the vested interests of the few over the stated wishes of the many [5].

Extinction Rebellion's 2nd demand, in full, states (as of December 2025):

'Every part of society must act now to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025 and begin protecting and repairing nature immediately. The whole of society must move into a new precautionary paradigm, where life is sacred and all are in service to ensuring its future'. [6]

This was ambitious in 2018, but plainly this deadline will pass.

Extinction Rebellion has not gone away: despite lack of media attention and increased police constraints on protest, local groups of activists have and will continue to make their presence felt.

As each year ends, one door closes and another door opens.

We will be back in 2026 with a message of hope: a better world is possible.

Yours Sincerely
