We are digital rebellion

From October 2025, the people behind this website are taking a break. We'll be writing up our experiences and Do-It-At-Home recipes and action packs for Extinction Rebellion's Rebel Toolkit - a publicly accessible set of resources.

Specifically, we'll be building up our section in Design Ideas for Actions under Rebel from Home.

We will continue to maintain the website here for 2 main reasons:

1. Perhaps you would like to take this up?!  With our government's and the media's lack of urgency in dealing with the climate and nature emergency, it looks like we'll be in the protest business for the long haul - this is more of a relay than a sprint! If you'd like to know what is involved and help grow the teams' capacity, please email digitalrebelXR@proton.me

2. The site has lots of good examples of ways people have got involved in protest from home, which can be re-purposed for your own campaigns.

We are tens of thousands of ordinary people, using the internet and social media as a positive force for tackling the climate emergency. Together we have power. We join our voices to shout the truth, amplify the climate movement, and take direct action online.

Digital activism works by shaping public opinion. So maybe you cannot take to the streets, or that sort of activism is not right for you. Maybe you do these things but also want a more effective voice online. Whoever you are, you can and should join the rebellion. Join us.
